Why do clients ever listen to advice from S&T desks?

I always hear about how salespeople and traders often shaft their clients, but the question, why do clients keep coming back for more? Also, how often is it that a trader or salesperson throws a bunch of exposure onto a client fully knowing that the client is likely to get fucked?

Jim Rogers tore the Fed a new one.

A few days back, Jim Rogers (co-founder of Quantum Fund) declared on CNBC Europe that we should be shorting all investment banks and that Fed policy of providing 'liquidity' is failing America. Today, his prediction looks like nothing short of divination. Link to the original video and article below.

How do Traders retire?

How can a person go from doing intense work for 10-12 hours a day for 10-20 years and suddenly stop and retire? Seems like you'd die from boredom afterwards because of hectic life you're used to.
