Best Day/Time to email?

I need to email some guys (Associates and MD's) in the group that I want to be placed into for FT.... when is the best time to email them?

Early in the day? A little after lunch? During lunch?

Training Pre-Work

Like other incoming FT IB analysts, I have a lot of pre-work to complete before training. However, group placement takes place before training begins, so technically this pre-work is the only "class room" information that they would have on us.

How does success on this stuff affect our group placement? Do groups see an overall score to help make their decision?

Stupid to start FT in Sponsors/LevFin?

As a FT starting this june, is it stupid to work in one of these groups given market turmoil? Could you potentially have a diluted experience or build a weaker skill set as a result?

What is the size of the current backlog? Are deals starting to clear through? Are new sponsor deals expected to be originated?

Without the CLO market, is there enough liquidity to support deals? What is pricing like these days?

iTouch in the Office

Since (at least as far as I know) the iTouch only works off of wifi signals and all offices are encrypted, protected, etc... are you able to get on the internet with an iTouch while in the office?

The iPhone has the edge technology too which you pay extra for, but I think having access to your personal emails and stuff during late office nights could be a major plus... thoughts?
