I guess I've been unbanned! [dr mark klein]

What I could do is rub it in Patrick's face that I won the vote and continue to be a huge prick. Which I will, to some extent. But for once I'm gonna make some concessions:

1. Some people have been talking about how I like to "give it to you straight." Most of the time, this is true, but occasionally I will exaggerate like crazy just to incite violent reactions. From now on, I'll try to stick closer to the truth, or at least admit when something is just hearsay.

Note: This is not to say that I will be polite, compassionate, or even normal from now on. I have a legacy to uphold that dates back to "mrs zala" at the vault investment banking forums.

2. What's the policy on swear words here? I've heard that big companies can use software that scans a website for the %age of pages that contain swear words or something. Then, if the %age is too high, they ban their employees from visiting that page while at work.

Excellent article about NJ people

http://www.thisisjersey.com/2008/07/28/club-tells-fat-women-to-go-home/

Club tells ‘fat’ women to go home

By Elaine Byrne

00577631_cropped.jpgFEMALE clubbers were refused entry into Havana nightclub on Saturday night for being too fat.

Police were called to calm the situation outside the Halkett Street club as bouncers and manager Martin Sayers allegedly told women to ‘go away and lose some weight’.

Over 20 women are expected to give statements to the police today and a Facebook page, labelled Havana Club Jersey Discrimination and using an image from US cartoon Family Guy, has already attracted over 100 supporters calling for Islanders to boycott the club.

Georgina Mason was one of the ladies refused entry. The 23-year-old, who works for Lloyds TSB, had been enjoying a night out with friends when it turned sour.

Stop posting so many crappy articles

When I go to "recent posts," literally NINETY PERCENT of the threads are financial news headlines, instead of actual DISCUSSION threads. Not only that, they are sometimes double posted - wait, make that QUADRUPLE posted. You have gotten out of control. If I wanted news, I would go to wsj.com or ft.com. Why do you have to do that?

Why I make fun of operations:

Somebody sent me a private message asking me why I come down so hard on people in ops. I think a lot of people don't realize how stupid it is to go into operations. Here is my response:

"first of all, you've got to come into an anonymous messageboard environment with the expectation that people will be overly harsh/mean.

Because this is an IB board: Which IB group is the best to be in right now?

Which group within IBD is the safest to go into right now?

Restructuring?

An industry group? If so, which industry groups are the most stable?

Certainly not public finance - no municipalities are going to want to take on debt with rates like this.
