Top Ten List of Hedge Fund Manager Quotes

An entertaining "top ten" list of quotes (some perhaps apocryphal) from hedge fund managers, according to a recent presentation by someone from U.K.-based Hermes, an LP:

    10. “If we don’t charge 2 and 20, no one will take us seriously.”
9. “We are 75% cash because we cannot find sufficient investments.”
8. “We charge 3 and 30 because that is the only way we can keep our assets under several billion.”

IB/asset management career, which country?

Perhaps there is some expats here, or simply "internationally mobile professionals", so this question may be relevant.

Background: I was born in Russia, the family moved to Australia in ‘94; I grew up here and got my finance degree here as well.

Now, Australian financial services are similar to US, and UK. They are largely friendly to competition, and therefore thousands of funds compete somewhat on level ground to manage the respective country's retirement savings. So, if you are gonna make a living as a fund manager in US, UK or Australia, there's thousands of other funds that you're gonna compete with for people's savings.

Artificial intelligence DSS for event driven trading

Shout out to all da hedge monkeys!

Guys, I have a question about decision support systems (DSS) available for event driven trading

What are you guys using, if anything? In a general sense, what tech are you using on the job?

The reason I ask is because I'm interested in using my tech background to help traders make better decisions
