Getting in IB with F1/H1 Visa

Does having an F1 (for summer internships) or H1 (for full time) visa make it harder to get in IB (besides the actual difficulty of getting the visa)? Do banks officially/unofficially discriminate to this group? Thank you

Trade Operations

I have an interview with a HF with over $10 billion assets under management for a trade operations internship position. I don't really know much about the position other than what I've read online, like the vault guides ( http://www.vault.com/nr/newsmain.jsp?nr_page=3&ch_id=261&article_id=2381... ).

Would this position be any different than IB Operations? I hadn't considered applying to operations before but this opportunity just came up and I find the success and quality of the HF to be very attractive.

Turkish IBankers

I was born in Turkey and lived half my life there and the rest in America, and currently attend a college in NY.

While I plan on spending at least the next 5 years in America, I would like to meet Turkish professionals to discuss career opportunities in Turkey (pro vs cons, compensation, corporate structure, difficulty in getting a job, etc). I've searched through my schools mentor system for people who were either born there or graduated from/worked at a Turkish institution but I couldn't find any one.

Virtual Stock Portfolio

I'm participating in Barron's Challenge, which is a virtual stock portfolio competition. They give you $100,000, you have to be fully invested, and you can not invest more than $10,000 in a single stock. There is about a month left till the 4-5 month competition is over. There are 1976 people competing and I'm currently in the top 20.

Would being in the top 1% carry any weight when I am applying for S&T jobs? Should I even mention it in my IBanking resume? Would the fact that I'm not in the top 10 make this work against me? Thanks

What is a Superday?

Hi,

Hopefully you guys can clarify something for me. It seems that a lot of people on this board are going to interviews with BBs and attending Superdays. What are superdays (in this context of course). Are there numerous Superdays or is it simply one big interview day where applicants meet with numerous people within the firm? I ask this because UBS IB, for example, is still taking applications for its NY Summer Analyst positions, but it seems people already have offers from them.
