Basically, I'm hoping to maximize my chances of getting into a top sponsor after a 2 year analyst stint. I realize that recruiting will be particularly difficult this season, but nonetheless I'm aiming to leverage my experience into getting a group-specific offer. The question is: what groups are particularly strong in their top sponsor placement?

I realize that there are topics that covered this before, but they're not particularly in-depth and most (key word, most) list only the standard MS M&A/TMT, GS TMT, etc...

Any recommendations?

M&A Activity (Question for a project)

I'm working on a project that explores how well Chinese firms do after acquiring foreign companies. I've had a lot of success finding acquisitions of US firms, but am having trouble finding acquisitions of European firms and others. Does anyone know a good place to look? Obviously, I've used Google, but it hasn't produced many results (I'll keep changing the search string). Anyone have any tips?

I'm considering a group-specific offer with a BB in Lev.Fin but with the rest I'd find out my group after accepting an offer. The thing is, I really like the bank, but am wondering whether this is a good time to go into the group...

A Few Questions

1). My major GPA is 4.0 and my cumulative is 3.67 (performed badly on some premed courses). Would it be alright to only put my major GPA on my resume?

2). I transferred from a community college to a target school. Will this impede my chances of making it through the screening process? If so, how do I get around this?

3). Banks always ask "why us?" How do you answer that question? I have met with employees form ML, JPM, and GS, and have yet to find a solid answer to that question. I want to find an internship at a BB, but would have trouble giving a satisfactory response to that question. How have some of you answered those questions?
