Leveraged Loans - dead end?

Given that CDO's (CLO) have stagnated, does a career in a fund specialising in Leverage Loans sound like trouble?

Can this experience be transferred to another area should the markets turn for worse? In other words what would the exit ops be?

I have been offered a role in CDO compliance at an AM group with about $20bn AUM.

will you consider stil small, mid or large firm, they only deal in the credit markets

the employ just under 50 people with backgrounds from top banks

what are my changes of moving into a move front office position like leverage loans or PM in about 2 yesr

I have an offer with a Hedge fund as a CDO Analyst

role involces,
cash reconciliation
vashflow modelling
compliance

i am unsure if this is a worth while career to be involved

what are the bonus propects with a role like this at a hedgefund in credit markets

the base salary offered id not great, just wondering about future progression

Working for a Trustee

Can anyone please let me know if working for a Trustee (e.g. ABN AMRO, Bank of America) as a CDO modeller or Transaction analyst would enable me to move into Debt Capital market or Asset managemet?

I am not sure if these are "end of the road" back office role, i would like to move to middle office in a year or two when banks start hiring.
