Possible to get into b-school after 2-year analyst stint?

I'm curious if it is possible to get into an MBA program like University of Chicago or Northwestern's Kellogg after doing two years as an analyst at a BB. Say you perform well at a top group, 750+ on the GMAT with a 3.7+ GPA from a well-regarded sem-target state school.

I know many people talk about going straight to b-school after working as an analyst, but I'm wondering how realistic it is to do so and get into a top school.

If You Could Do It All Again...

For those of you who have graduated college and gone off to do banking, looking back are you glad that it is something you have done? I have a friend who works at one of Goldman’s top groups and whenever I ask if he’s happy he chose banking he says, “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think it’s going to lead me where I want to go.”

Greatest Networking Story Ever...

I just had to share this with you all because I thought it was just unbelievable.

Yesterday, I was at the doctor's office to get a few shots for my abroad trip next semester. I was visiting my friend the past few days who lives about 2 hours away. So as we are walking from the waiting room to the examination room, the nurse and I start chatting about how annoying the snow is and how terrible it was driving to get to the doctor's office from my friend's place.

She comments that she was just chatting with her adult daughter who was trying to get into NYC to visit her boyfriend who works at a top consulting firm. Of course, I ask her which consulting firm and she responds. She then asks what I do and I say I'm still in college but have been actively searching for an i-banking summer position. The nurse says wow, that's great, my daughter is actually an investment banker. I ask her where and what group, etc... she replies that her daughter is a VP at a XX bank (a top BB) in Chicago. Of course I get excited because I have applied here but not heard back about any sort of interview.

How HR Decides Who is Chosen for Superday/Eventually Hired...

After interviews, do the VPs and associates who conduct the interviews rate the candidate on a number scale? Are there categories such as professionalism, leadership ability, etc.? Are there cut offs for scores based on a numeric list.... or is it done simply on recommendation. If so, how does HR effectively fill 10 spots if they get 43 yes recommendations from the interviewers?
