Intern --> Fulltime London numbers

Lehman has been converting about 50% of their intern class to full time. One of my best bud at Lehman just confirmed that last night.
Merrill: I was doing some models and bottles w/ an M&A analyst last night, and 75% offers for the intern class at his bank.

The down side: There were much fewer interns accepted in the intern class this year.

Thats about all I know so far. The Rothshield kid who went out with us was just starting full time so he wasn't in contact w/ anyone in his class, but apparently buisness has never been better.

I like to keep who I work for on the DL, all I can say is that interns don't know about their status yet at my company. (I am also on the S&T side, so it really just depends from desk to desk)

I'll be hearing from my friends over the city in the next few weeks, I'll try to keep people up to date on the grape vine.

CFA level I and the FSA

The CFA is not that worthless after all, I am exempt from taking the securities part of the FSA exams :) So the countless hours of not having a social life were worth it after all :-p

I just got back from vacation, a bit jet lagged so I took a shower at 7:00am; I hear a knock on the door. My flatmate just got back from work and needs to shower ASAP before he has to head back to work.

My offer is conditional in that I need to complete my masters degree. Of course I doubt I will fail, but my university has the great idea of putting 100% of your grade on all your final exams at the end of the year.

Bank Sports Facilities(London)

Considering the recent surge in posts regarding ranking. I thought of an actual ranking that might be worth something:

Which bank do you think has the best sports facilities in London? And which banks give out sportswear for employees to work out in?
(I assume a lot of you did the whole company tours at every single banks in London, or you just brag about your gym to friends at other banks)

I have to hand in my paperwork for my criminal background check and what not. They ask for the last 7 years of job experience: I have only had part time jobs, and internships (I was regulated by the SEC at some of my internships).
Do I have to include that or not?

How to convince a friend to do banking

My best friend (who happens to live abroad) has the opportunity to teach French as a TA for a year at Upenn, Chicago University, Cornell, or Columbia. He will be taking classes there at the same time, and pretty much will be like a normal student (minus the exchange factor, and the teaching factor).

So i've been spending the night in the library working on my f...ing thesis; and this suddenly downed on me:
I'll be working trading hours which is only from 7 to 7, which means I will be spending less time at work than I am currently spending at the library. In other words in 4 months when I start working I will be getting more sleep in banking than in school.

Crazy hu?
