ever possible to get a 2nd SHOT at BB?

School recruiter came back to interview and made it to superday but was dinged at a particular group within a BB. I've just recently struck up a conversation with an alum who's an MD/ED at the same BB but a different group. Is it possible that he could get me another interview with the same firm, but of course a different group?

with so many questions, how do you PREPARE?

There can be literally 50+ "fit" questions ranging from "tell me about yourself in 10 years" or "what do you like to do for fun?". In keeping with the craziness of the board, we're all trying to practice the qs ahead of time.
Do you guys ever take time out and write out answers for all 50 questions?

an URGENT question about shadowing people

I really only want corporate finance jobs but I've gotten to know a BB institutional equity sales MD through one of my S&T analyst friends (very briefly met). I was still sleeping this morning when the analyst friend called me and told me that he spoke with the MD about me and the MD told him that I could go down and shadow them for a few hours to get a feel for the job.

what role do ALUMS and INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEW play?

1. I'm at a semi-target very decent name school but it's not recruited by some BBs. I spoke with a high level alum but he's retired. He forwarded my resume to HR. Now what? Does that mean that his passing along of my resume was completely useless? Wouldn't my application through the online blackbox be passed to the HR also? How do alums passing your resume to HR help in any way?

got my RESUME passed in, now what?

I talked to a distant family friend who agreed to pass on my resume in this BB that my school isnt targeted at. I didnt even apply through the online app but I've already gotten an email from human resources saying that my resume has been received (I clearly didnt send it so it must have been him).

anyone know of any HIDDEN deadlines?

Some firms recruit on campus and have different dates for resume drops. But what about firms that dont come on campus and will only accept resumes through HR Email or through online application. Anyone know any deadlines for these firms?

This is for summer analyst position by the way. It'd be great if we could compile a list of deadlines for the major BBs. Anyone know any? TYIA

a question about SEO

1. How long should one expect to wait for a 1st round interview after submitting the application?
2. The first round interviews are almost always by phone right? Are there ever surprise interviews like "You're scheduled for tomorrow at 2" or do they give more notice like 1-2 weeks in advance?

Thanks!

Im at a semi-target so we'll have a few BBs recruit on campus for SA positions. Because I'm not a finance major, I know that the campus recruiters wont ask too many technical questions.

very confused on the positions in FINANCE

These are just general question so I can have some perspective about the different jobs in finance.

I've always been under the impression that outside of hedgefunds and private equity, investment banking is the most accessible career path for ambitious young college grads. But seeing some of the ibanking departments around, I've gotten very confused on which is ibanking and which is not.

how do you guys have TIME to prepare for interview?

I'm a junior from a semi-target/target looking to find an SA position. I'm also an econ major taking 4 regular classes this semester. I know it doesn't sound that tough but I'm trying to get a 4.0 and I've been getting only ~4 hours of sleep trying to fit in all my projects. So I haven't even written my resume yet, let alone practice interview questions.
