I have a summer offer for both groups and the Bear HR guy told me today that I still have my equities SA position and it will prob be for JPM. I just found it a little weird because I got a Bear Prime Brokerage offer and when the package came in the mail with the offer letter it said global equities division on it.

What does everybody think about this inter-dealer broker? I have an opportunity for a summer internship here. Would this be better than interning at a BB in Prime Brokerage?

Is it better to go back to being a summer intern in Prime Brokerage at a BB that you worked at last summer in PB or go to a different BB and do their Operations Summer Analyst Program? My goal to is land a front office position in Sales & Trading for full time. Thank you.

On Hold Chances

I was just put on hold at a firm for their SA position. What are the chances of someone being on hold at getting the offer? How many ppl have to decline the offer for someone on hold to get one? Thanks.

When you send an interviewer a thank you note, and he/she responds "it was nice meeting you as well. best of luck." etc.....does that usually mean you got dinged, or does it not really mean anything? Whenever I got a response back saying that, I usually got dinged.

I can only make it to one superday on friday out of a choice of two. It is either a BB Prime Services Summer Analyst or a non-BB but top tier bank (think barclays, b of a) for sales and trading. which one do i go to if i think i have a better shot at the prime services, but id rather do the s&t if i get it, which will be a lot harder.

Recruiters not getting back to you

I have a question. If after a first round interview, the recruiter says she will get back to you either way with a decision within the week and then 2 weeks go by and you still hear nothing, does that mean you were dinged? I emailed a recruiter at a BB asking my status and she said they were still going through the candidates and deciding

Barclays S&T

Does anybody know the strengths of Barclays S&T? What desks are hot right now and is equity or fixed income more prestigious at this firm. Any help is greatly appreciated.
