The Status of WSO

When I first found this site I was in the middle of my first year and I found it really helpful, however, as of late the quality of this site has depreciated. I am not sure if this is because the site became more popular so the number of non investment bankers rose disproportionally or if the more senior users left due to the status of the market, therefore, needing to spend their free time either picking up the slack of their fallen comrades or looking for jobs.

To Quit

I am going to quit soon, but I have no idea how to approach the situation. I have never quit a job before, I have always left to move on with natural progression. Quit my high school job to go to college, internships naturally end, and so on.

I feel bad because BoA did me a favor letting me go to Russia for 6 months. How do I approach it. Any insight is great.

Goals

Being around this board for a little bit of time it is obvious that everyone here wants to get into IB, but what are your goals after the program is over?

Is it about a future job or the cash flow? Do you want to work all your life just to have a couple of houses or do you like just like the work?

Some Advice From Fellow Bankers

I come to you all with a minor dilemma, a choice rather.

I was called about two weeks ago by a headhunter who offered me an
interview. The reason I got the call was because an alum had called
a professor who he had and I have had for a recommendation. This is the
position:

A two-year commitment to help the financial analysis strategy team as

Alright. Due to my popularity or people just hating to read my posts it has turned
some of my biggest fans into internet searchers. Let me explain something about this
name. When I was at ML we all went to a Yankees game and we signed up for free blankets
and shirt when you sign up for a Credit Card. The guys who had been there told me that

Leaving after One

In an analyst program if you leave after one year what effects will it have on getting into another analyst program for year 2? Or in the future.

The reason I want to leave is that I just do not like my team I think they are not efficient. Therefore, if I leave will I look like a failure?

Also, I got an offer to be in the Lockheed Martin Financial Leadership/Management program. Even though I want to go into banking, HF, or PE after an MBA is it bad to take this offer for 2 years and then go to a top grad school? My method of thinking is that it will be a good learning experience, good pay, less hours, and I will be attractive after an MBA at a MIT or Harvard (went to MIT undergrad). Is this wrong? Will my one year stint hurt me after my MBA in getting hired at a bank?, obviously not my current bank.

Leaving IB

I have been an analyst for 2 years at a good firm not a BB. What is the comp of hedgefunds with over 1bln? and how about those at about .5bln. An average base and a guess at bonus. I am just wondering.
