Today I accompanied my MD and a VP from FIG on a pitch to some fuck in midtown. We got a car to transport us to his building where he was waiting outside. No jacket, and the first three buttons undone underneath his tie, he held his arms out and greeted us with "crabcakes and football, thats what Maryland does." I was the first out of the car (b/c I was the last in) and I stood up into this bafoon with puddles of sweat under his arms. I couldnt help it, I laughed my ass off. The guy then says, "ge whiz (MD's name), you got yourself a giggler here."

Many on the board are building a wardrobe for either IB interviews or full time. The dress at most firms is shitty except for a select few.
Here are the tenents of good IB dress:
1. Aviod Brooks Brothers or anything that looks like Brooks Brothers. It is for 50 year old men who lack sartotial elegance.
2. Since we are avoiding the brooks stlye, we must define the elegant styles. The first is British. The second is the traditional american/ivy league look. Brooks is a mix between the two -a bad one.
3. British: Hunstman, Anderson and Sheppard, Kilgour, Chester Barrie...pretty much anything saville row or american bespoke representative of the british look. Think Larry Kudlow.
