Does anyone know if this is common in boutiques? How are they different from summer positions? How hard to land this positions?

This may have been brought up, sorry if I repost!

I expect myself to graduate May 09. Given the market condition, should I focus on the Asia market?

I believe I have a good edge because I am native in Cantonese and Mandarin. I go to non-target, 3.8+, tons of ECs, working at a boutique in US now.

I emailed a couple boutiques and most of them say they are not hiring. I am volunteering to work for free, should I keep bugging them? Or just move on?

got an internship from boutique

I got an internship in a pretty small boutique in ATL. However, I also got an internship in Shanghai for a finance company (I will do something that is related to ib). Which experience is better? My concern is that the one in Shanghai is not a traditional IB firm, however I believe its name is quite big, at least in China.
