Convertible Bonds

I'm starting FT soon, and I'm thinking about joining Convertible Bonds but I don't know anything about them except that they are bonds that convert to stock after a certain share price.

Can anyone share more information about Convertible Bonds or what it's like working in Convertible Bonds? Thanks!

I met up with a friend last night who came into the city for Bear interviews. Apparently they give 40$ for dinner. He got the best steak. I was telling him that maybe it looks bad, but he says it doesnt matter. your thoughts?

Options for those without IBD FT 2008 offers

What can one do? Thought I'd make a list of options to help people like me out..

1. Go to grad school, apply for associate position in the future.

2. Take some random business job, apply for analyst position next year (although I don't kmow how just applying through the website instead of the school will work - anyone know?

Say something about weird interview?

Just had an interview with a major BB. Was told that it would be all fit, but my questions were all technical. Pretty sure I will not be called for 2nd round because people are getting emails about superday already. None of the other interviews gave technical questions. I feel like I should say something. This was NOT FIT as HR said.

Why do aspiring bankers do a S&T internship?

I've heard a few people say it is best to do a S&T internship so you get to see what thats about before committing. Then, even if you don't get an offer back it doesn't matter because you didnt want to do it anyway. Not getting an offer in S&T is a lot better than not getting the offer in IB - is there any truth to this? I think not getting the offer in S&T is worse
