Guys,

I was negoitating salary recently. The employer got back to me with a higher number. I was not still happy. I gave them the number i wanted and it was like 10% higher. I really like the firm and bonuses are going to be good and its a boutique.

After submitting my numbers that i wanted to them via email...

I get a call from one of the Big shots Senior MD and very well known in the industry...

he said that i was told u wanted a higher pacakge.. and o think we have been quite generous. i really want u on the team and lets start working. we pay everything via bonuses he said. he also said that i would apprecaite if u take this job on the offer we gave u (10-15% what i wanted)

I got lil neverous cuz he far up in the rank and i said yes.. .. verbally but will sign th contract in the coming days..

DAMN.. now im getting greed again.. should i negotiate more to my numbers..? i have already bumbed them up 40%.. cuz they were low balling me..

WOW

Guys,

For M&A deal:

DCF
Trading Comps
Transaction Comps
LBO

Are these valuation methods are always used? Do you have to use them or does it depend on the industry?

If the valution is doen correctly or fairly, should they all have almost same valuation? I know clients (sell side) would liek thave a higer value.. is there an approach out of these methods which has a chance to the value higher than the rest?

For a retial industry. What would be the driving factors? What reports analysts or associates look at before deciding the assumptions? Can any bankers share with real life examples that the things and reports are observed ? Who decides in the deal team that the the value is fair? MD?

Interaction with Clients:

While working on a deal. what kinds of thins and documents are needed from clients(if any) for due dilligence purposes?

Lets assume:

BB:Big name, market salary, therefore long term brand name

SMall Name: pays 2 times BB. Much more deals but smaller than BB size. Much better expreince. a Good career progression and NO MBA needed. But the firm is still known to the ppl who are in the industry.

These three heads will be grilling the hell outta me..

I was wondering if u folks can give some guidance on how to impress them on by asking smart and good questions?

Thanks so much
P.S. my MD looks like Dave Chapelle

Guys,

I was building a model recently. I calculated the transaction Value while i was doing Trading comps. I am not sure why are Options used for valuation purposes of a firm?

Can some one explain me a little theory? What the point of calculating Options and their strikes? Just curoius..
