Using "personal" situations for an example in an interview?

Interview season is coming up and I want to make sure what I say isn't uncalled for when being asked for examples about what I've done in the past. The questions will be from trading companies.

In short, a close family member became sick a few years ago and it was a pretty stressful time for my family.

Is it uncalled for to use an example or two from my situation as an example when asked something like "tell me about a time when you had to act under pressure". My response for this would be about a time when immediate medical attention was needed but no one else was around.

The last thing I want to do is try and tell a sad story or look like I'm wanting the least bit of pity, but a few instances out of the past situation would be perfect examples.

I figure as long as I concentrate on my own performance other than the situation itself then that would be ok, but I would really like some opinions on this.

Thanks

When/How to put CFA on resume?

I'll be taking my level 1 CFA exam this December and I would really like to express that on my resume for my job searches/apps this fall (I will be graduating from UG next May).

From what I've gathered, I would be able to put "CFA Level 1 Candidate" on my resume and still adhere to rules.

Would this also usually go under the Education section of my resume? Either that or activities would make the most sense to me.

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

The future of Hedge Funds, PE, Banking, etc?

With all the new regulations/scandals coming out almost every other week (at least that's what it feels like), what is in store for various finance jobs in the future (5, 10, 20years).

I would eventually like to work for a Hedge Fund and I plan on trading when I graduate, but I'm interested to see what some people think the future will hold for different careers. Will Hedge Funds be a thing of the past or will they be just as abundant as ever in like 10 years? The same goes for IB and PE, what kind of job market will we have an will salaries be increasingly more or will they drop? Seems like banking should turn around once the economy does, but I'm not so sure about HF's, etc.

Obviously this is just a lot of speculation, but I would like ot hear some opinions on what you expect to see in the future and why.

Decided I want to do trading instead of IB... now I need an internship...

I've been planning on going into IB for the last year or so, but as I get further into my finance curriculum and my own experience, I realized that I would be a much better fit with S&T. I've actually been interested in trading my whole life, but I guess I kind of got caught up in IB and the possibilities that can come with it.

The fact is that i'm a trader... not a banker.

How many MM banks offer internships?

I'm currently going through the process of applying for summer analyst positions. My main resource is obviously my career center, as I go to a target. However, I would like to get my name out there to a lot of Mid-Market firms just to make sure I get an offer. I have applied through the careers tab on a lot of their sites, but some of their sites don't say anything about careers and some
