In light of the recent decisions UBS management has made regarding the investment bank, is UBS going to lose its classification as a bulge bracket? I'm curious to see what people think about this and the future of UBS. Here is an article detailing what I am talking about:

Job Cuts and Business Continuity

I am a graduating senior that will be starting full time at a BB in Business Continuity in June. With all the job cuts being announced at various banks, I can't help but wonder if my job may be in jeopardy.

Does anyone have any insight on whether or not Business Continuity is a department that may fall victim to these job cuts?

Chief Operating Office vs. Operations

Could someone please explain to me the difference between working in the chief operating office and operations? In a brochure I have from a BB they are listed as two separate departments and I was wondering how the chief operating office compares to operations as far as bonus potential and ability to migrate to a front office job. Business Continuity?

MBA While Working?

I recently accepted my first full time job at a BB in an operations role. My bank has a program where they will pay for your MBA while you are working, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how realistic taking advantage of this is.

Building A Wardrobe

I have accepted a position for an operations position at a BB bank, and I need to build a wardrobe before my start date. The problem that I have is I'm unsure exactly how casual/formal the typical dress is, so I want to cover all my bases.

So far I've accumulated the following items:

4 Suits -
low to mid range in cost, Jones New York/Calvin Klein. Slate Grey/Pinstripe/Navy

5 or 6 dress shirts -
varying solid colors, not too expensive, looking to buy more but I'm wondering if I should go for striped or some other variation. Not sure how many I should end up with.

5 or 6 ties -
Decent quality ($30-40/tie), conservative patterns for the most part. Again, looking to buy more of these but not sure on the exact number I should aim for.

Coats -
One very nice grey overcoat, one less expensive raincoat. I think coats are covered.

Shoes -
One pair of Bostonian black dress shoes. Not sure if I need more.

Pants -

Operations to Investment Banking

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone could offer any advice on how hard it is to make the switch from an operations role to an i-banking role. Right now I plan on getting my MBA while in the operations role and then trying to switch over to an associate position afterwards. Is this switch easy, difficult, possible at all?
