I have to immediately apologise, because I genuinely do not understand what you're asking here. I don't know what you mean by "Can someone share an insight as to what i will be working towards when i arrive at that country?"

So, instead I will answer what I think you are asking, which is

• How do I best prepare for a Masters degree at a non-target?
• How best to leverage this experience for recruiting?
• Which firms should I target based on my profile?

In case this isn't what you're asking, then please do clarify, and I'll take another stab at it. So, in asnwer to the questions above, I'l give brief answers, let me know if you want me to deep dive on any specific topic:

• How do I best prepare for a Masters degree (bearing in mind end-goal is Consulting)?
  • Not much to do ahead of time, other than make sure you set yourself up for success, so obviously make sure you're aware of the courses you'll take, and the workload required (some degrees / courses are easier than others)
  • It goes without saying, but make sure you get the highest possible grade in your masters
• How best to leverage this experience for recruiting?
  • Start your interview prep early: Case Interview + Online Tests (be mindful MBBs each have quite different tests)
  • Tons of materials on interview prep on here
  • For Online test prep, most free materials online are good enough
• Which firms should I target based on my profile?
  • I'll be honest, right now from a lower-ranked uni with a 2:1, your chances at MBB are really not great unless your work experience + extracurriculars are excellent
  • The Masters could help undo that a bit (assuming you get the best grade there), but I really recommend making every effort to get a 1st
  • You can always Target B4 or Boutique consultancies
    • Be careful about visa sponsorships (I dont know if smaller firms sponsor in the UK - I know MBB do, obviously)
    • Be careful about language requirements, if you target a country outside of the UK (e.g., Netherlands, Germany, France)

Now more generally, if you want to make it in strategy consulting, you'll definitely need to be crystal clear and structured in your comms. I know this is an informal forum, but you're asking for help from people who are rather busy and have pretty short attention spans (as an example, Im writing this at work and it's 10:15pm and I really was on the fence about ignoring it because of the structure and the first 2 paragraphs).
