PPE at Birmingham University or Politics & Management at Exeter University?
Hello everyone, I was wondering what your thoughts would be on selecting a school for corporate finance or perhaps IB.I think UoB had a better program, but Exeter is more prestigious as It's considered a semi-target.Any comments and input would be appreciated!
Pick where you want to go, very low difference between unis. Met a guy from Birmingham the other day at a top HF, but he literally graduated top of his year. Exeter is more of an EB vibe
UoB is a classic redbrick while Exeter is a trendy new University.
Prestige-wise, Exeter is better but academically UoB is 90th in the QS World rankings while Exeter is at 150, so UoB has better faculty imo.

Uni Rank/Status>Uni Course. Why you think soo many Biochemistry kids from UCL get high finance jobs and not so many Uni of Birm Economics kids get em? The uni you go means a lot more than what you study.
Of course, that is the rule of thumb. However, the University name is not everything- there is nuance to this. To be honest, I am not sure that many people from science backgrounds do get into high finance. Sure, a classics background in history or English can get you into a nice job but after that, it is wholly irrelevant. I would say employers also look at academic strength, wouldn't you agree?
all I can say is there is no difference at all when recruiting; unless if you go to the top 5 unis, oxbridge etc. I got 5 interviews for a wide array of banks so it doesn't affect your prospects at all. All that matters is doing well I psychometric tests, otherwise your uni doesn't matter too much.
