Should there be a separate forum for private credit?

More of a meta-forum question , but I work in private credit / mezzanine / distressed investing and given that it's pretty distinct from private equity and with the growing popularity and asset formation, should there be a separate forum rather than co-mingling with the PE forum? I personally think so but would be great to see other perspectives too

Yes, 1000%. We should have a credit forum. Distress & direct lending bros need to unite as one

definitely agree on that, an overall general lending forum

I would appreciate this greatly as a student, since I’m trying to get into the credit space. Going to be doing my junior internship for a CLO manager doing research, would appreciate any advice

the RE forum has a similar issue where lenders, developers, acq guys, etc are all lumped together.

I agree, but I like that personally since they're all in RE one way or another, so it's interesting to see different perspectives.

I would love to learn more about private credit (who are the major players and how to get into the space). Any advice for someone without a banking background but currently working in a strategic finance role at a startup?

Agree that we need a credit forum. Also agree that it needs to be a broader 'credit' forum rather than strictly PC, so that it garners more traffic.

I've noticed a problem in these forums - people shy away from going to the most appropriate forum because it has less traffic and therefore garners less answers, and they go to the wrong forum because it has more traffic.

E.g., people asking a question about equity research use the IB forum instead of the ER one, cuz you barely get your questions answered in the ER forum

Yes there should be a separate forum for sure. It’s a massive asset class

I've been thinking this same thing for a while now - incredible to see WSO added it in!! Thanks to everyone who raised their voices and thanks to WSO for listening. The asset class is exploding and definitely makes sense to gather the content in a single place instead of fragmenting these conversations across other forums.
