ER Career Advice
Hey Everyone, first time poster. To introduce myself, I recently started a role as an Equity Research Associate at a small financial publishing firm in the mid-atlantic region. In addition, I graduated from a small liberal arts school last May where I majored in Economics.
I'm very grateful for my opportunity considering I came from a small liberal arts college where I didn't even major in finance. That being said, I do eventually want to move to a BB or MM ER position, preferably in the Washington D.C. area. Does anyone have any advice on what I should be doing now to better those opportunities and to make me a better candidate?
Things like should I go MF or MBA. Should I begin working towards my CFA? Anything helps, thanks everyone.
You need neither. Just stay at your current role for a year and then start networking to a BB/MM ER spot. Just make sure you know the sector you current cover or want to cover very well. The latter is harder because it will be outside work hours.
Any tips for networking for ER roles?
