Ladies 21st present
Hi all,
I'm turning 21 in a couple of weeks, and my parents want to know what I want, around (and not really any higher than) the £1000 mark. My sister got diamond earrings, though I don't really want to be the same as her.
I definitely want something that is going to last, and that I possibly that I can wear to work (I'm either becoming a lawyer or banker - have an IBD internship this summer and a training contract offer from a law firm already).
Does anyone have any ideas? A watch, maybe?
Cheers!
Chanel bikini?
How about a Burberry trench? Won't break the bank, and you'll get a lot of use out of it in your life (unless you gain a lot of weight).
Does it have to be 1 item? You could also go shopping for a few staple items to celebrate your entrance to the working world. (College wardobes normally need a re-vamp/be burned in a bonfire. Well, unless you'll be able to swindle that out of your parents anyway.)
take cash invest
Ask for facebook stock
Spend it on a one of a kind experience like traveling to Brazil and backpacking with a friend.
i 2nd the burberry trench. disclaimer: i'm a meterosexual dude.
Ask them to give 1000 quid to charity in your name.
If she was the type of person to do that, she probably would have thought of it already.
not sure how that translates to $s (i also just realized i have no idea how to type the pound symbol, lol) but id go for an event as opposed to an object. Either travel, rent somewhere out for a party w/ friends, something like that. good times > objects
get some anti-aging cream
Cash.
Get a round-trip ticket to Shanghai or Hong Kong and buy a whole new wardrobe as you party your ass off and eat shrimp for a week.
Hey, I hadn't seen the exchange rate in a while! Thanks for pointing that out.
OP, take the cash and run. To the bank, I mean.

Watch, Mont Blanc pen...
watch is a good idea (if you like having one expensive one vs. several one to match outfits), pen is a terrible one. you are just going to get made fun of for using the pen or keeping it in your cube, and trust me, its just makes it worse when you say it was a gift.
trench works, it rains a lot in london and you'll be walking around canary wharf quite a bit. shoes will wear out and once they do the sentimental value of the gift is gone. or have them buy you 3 nice suits (grey, navy and purple)
Probably a little over £1000, but I would go with a Cartier Love Bracelet. Bought one for my GF post '06 or '07 bonus. My golden retriever growing up hasn't given me as much love as she has.
also, isn't that thing supposed to be like a chastity belt that you keep the key to? that's mad fucked up bro
Huh? It's just a bracelet that lets other girls know that you or your s/o has a shit ton of money and style.
Oh what a coincidence, I only cost £1000 .............. I will be waiting for your pm.
Cheers.

Just making sure all of you guys who are saying take a trip, donate to charity or offering themselves, have read this.
Also for those of you never had girlfriends, girls like things. Especially things they can show off to other girls. While a trip to Ibiza or Cannes would be nice, it's only good if a girl already has everything else in terms of things fulfilled.
Girls like that... just pump 'em and dump 'em. 10k handbag = divorce waiting to happen. Damn birds...i thought you monkeys knew how to play the game
I think a trip to Ibiza or Cannes would enable you to show off your worldly exposure to those who matter - The people who would appreciate that you left your country and interacted with others than your girlfriends.
But what do I know, I don't even have girlfriends :(
red bottoms.
And yes, I'm a straight dude. I really shouldn't know what the fuck Louboutins are. Don't ask...
This is the problem with our society. Why does it matter if a straight dudes knows what goes on in fashion how is that unmanly.
i trip to NY.
next.
For my 7th birthday I got a toolbox from my dad. It was an excuse for him to buy a toolbox for himself. Baller.
Nantucket Reds.
I would ask for a beautiful, good quality, swiss automatic watch. My dad bought my brother and I one for Christmas, by far it's my favourite piece of jewellery, and I can wear it to all my meetings without worrying if it's too showy, because it has a practical purpose.
Edit: I asked my older sister what'd she'd do, "Expensive trench coat"
