Summer Analyst Wardrobe
IB Summer Analyst at a BB in the New York office. Would you guys say this wardrobe will do for the summer? I would appreciate any insights or advice or any changes to be made (More shirts, different colors, etc.)
2 Suits (1 navy blue and 1 charcoal gray)
6 White Shirts (No blue shirts)
4 trousers ( 2 navy blue and 2 charcoal gray)
4 ties
2 black belts
Oxford shoes (1 black pair and 1 brown pair)
15+ dress socks
My main question: is it ok to wear only white shirts and never wear blue/power blue shirts. Secondly, is it ok to have 6 shirts and 4 pairs of trousers to get me through the summer or will I need more of each. Thanks for the help and appreciate any other advice.
Don’t wear brown shoes with a black belt
You'll be fine with what you have. Would recommend buying a few pairs of shirts and pants that are machine washable. Going to the dry cleaners can be a pain.
How can an intern conveniently get shirts dry cleaned once a week? I’ve been told to launder shirts no starch weekly and pants monthly. Let me know if I’m incorrect there.
Will probably want a few more shirts. It’s easier to re-wear pants vs shirts and you’ll have to do laundry every week with only 6 shirts. Charles Tyrwhitt or whatever the name is has good shirts for cheap.
If you’re wearing undershirts, 6 is enough. But if not, probably best to wear once then dry clean. So it’s nice to have more, but not required
