What to Wear to In Person Networking Chat
Couldn't find this answered on here, but I reached out to some alumni and one of them wants to meet in person (I go to school in NYC) at a coffee shop. What do I wear to this? Is wearing a dress shirt/pants too formal? Is something like a more casual collared shirt (untucked) and khakis okay? This would be on a Sunday afternoon. Thank you!
Would defer to others but for me a tucked in button down and Kahkis / chinos seems appropriate.
How senior are they? And do you have any familiarity with them beyond this? If you want to have zero doubts, suit without tie would cover it but agree that feels like overkill
Thanks! Should have mentioned this is with an associate. Don't have any familiarity with them beyond this.
Since it’s the WE and with a young analyst/associate, I’d go with kakhi and button down shirt..doesn’t hurt
Thank you!
Agree with above. When I dressed in person I would do brown loafers, chinos, brown belt, and button down with folded up sleeves. Color of pants and shirt would be in the blue/grey/maroon color schemes. I live in a hot climate, but think that would be appropiate for anywhere with certain variations.
If I wear checkered, the lines are always on the thinner side - don't want to look like a bbq tablecloth
Thank you!
Dress pants and dress shirt for a weekday. On a weekend I would go to khakis and button down (what a nice guy to do it on a Sunday afternoon, btw)
