Can employer fire you right before guaranteed bonus in the UK?
Hello,
I joined a new firm early this year and my contract has a guaranteed bonus to be paid out Jan 2022 conditional on me still being employed and not on notice at that time. My question is whether in the UK it would be possible for a firm to fire an employee right before this guaranteed bonus payment would be due to avoid paying it. I'm aware most people here are no lawyers and have no detailed knowledge of my contract, but if you have anecdotes or general knowledge on how this works in the UK I would be very interested.
