HK IB to Toronto IB/HF Coverage?
I'm currently studying in HK and I plan to work in IB in HK after grad then move to IB/HF in Toronto. I heard from a guy doing IB in HK say that local grads will usually cover HK and China markets. Let's say I do that but what will I cover in Toronto? Will I still be responsible for HK and China markets or will I have to get familiar with Canadian markets?
Any answers would be much appreciated.
Most AM's and HF's in Toronto cover North American/European markets, some Japanese. Chinese is not that common but there are Asian funds with exposure to China (Mackenzie comes to mind)
You will have to get familiar with US, Canadian and some European markets.
would u pls also recommend some financial news sources besides bloomberg and wsj that focuses on canadian and european markets? or bbg and wsj r alr enough?
thanks
The Globe and Mail for Canada has decent mkts and business coverage
