Best online IB prep course

I'm looking for recommendations what is the best IB prep course in your opinion. I don't know much IB related stuff at the moment, so giving myself about 3-4 months to learn all things that are needed. I'll be applying for FT roles, with some work experience in Finance which is not IB related, so ideally I'm looking for some training content that is also covered during IB internships and that will make me able to answer all technical questions that are normally asked for FT recruiting (and to learn IB related modelling skills).

The ones below caught my attention:

Pricewise WSO is the cheapest one, while the rest is around $500. I don't mind spending $500 but I would love to understand if it's really worth it.

Also, those already working in IB, can you please mention what models I should know for FT recruiting? Or do I need to know rather basic stuff for recruiting (statements/accounting basics) and modelling is not important at that stage?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, if you're gearing up for full-time (FT) roles in investment banking (IB) and looking to get a solid foundation in IB-related skills and knowledge, the WSO IB Interview Course could be a great starting point for you. Given your timeline of 3-4 months to learn, this course is designed to help you master the technical questions commonly asked during FT recruiting and enhance your IB modeling skills. Here's why the WSO IB Interview Course stands out, especially for someone in your position:

  1. Comprehensive Coverage: The WSO IB Interview Course offers extensive coverage of the technical aspects you'll need to know for IB interviews. This includes financial modeling, valuation techniques, and understanding of financial statements, which are crucial for anyone looking to break into IB.

  2. Affordability: As you've noted, the WSO course is the most cost-effective option among the ones you're considering. This makes it an excellent choice if you're looking for high-quality content without breaking the bank.

  3. Real-World Relevance: The course content is designed to reflect the skills and knowledge that are actually used in IB internships and full-time roles. This means you'll be learning material that's directly applicable to the job, making you a more competitive candidate.

  4. Modeling Skills: While basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles is essential, modeling skills are increasingly important for IB roles. The WSO course includes modules on financial statement modeling, DCF, M&A, LBO, and more, which are all critical models you should be familiar with for FT recruiting.

  5. Additional Resources: Beyond the IB Interview Course, WSO also offers a range of other resources and courses, such as the WSO Elite Modeling Package, which can further enhance your learning and preparation for IB roles.

For those already working in IB or aiming to do so, it's important to have a strong grasp of both the basics (like financial statements and accounting principles) and more advanced topics like financial modeling. While the basics are crucial for interviews, modeling skills will play a significant role in your day-to-day responsibilities in IB.

In conclusion, considering your background and goals, the WSO IB Interview Course seems like a solid choice to prepare for FT IB roles. It offers a comprehensive, affordable, and relevant curriculum that aligns with the skills and knowledge needed for success in investment banking.

I can only speak on TTS and BIWS as I have both courses and have done them. TLDR: TTS specific courses if you are short on time, BIWS if you have a lot of time. If you have lots of free time on your hands, I would recommend the BIWS course. Be warned, it is extremely comprehensive and takes a long time to finish between the cases and videos. I do think if you have 4-6 months of absolute free time, it’s the BEST way to prepare for banking. I bought the excel, ppt, and financial modeling courses and have actually used a majority of the things taught on the actual job. TTS is good especially if you only have a few weeks to prepare, especially their Financial Modeling, Merger Model and LBO courses. I actually started with this first and then moved to BIWS. It’s easy to follow and pretty reasonable to finish in a few days to a week depending on your level of finance and accounting.

EDIT: happy to answer specific questions about the courses.
