Help: tell me wrong if I'm too satisfied with current status
Currently junior in a regional target and luckily locked a SA offer in a top BB. Interning at an MM shop to get some IB work exposure in advance. Compared with my peers grinding in other shit banks, I'm really happy about the nice culture and I have only worked late twice in a month (usually finish work at 18:00). I then have much time to keep perfect scores on my school courses.
So I intentionally missed a few EBs and MFs interview opportunities after I heard about the painful intern experience there (all the all-nighters and pitches). However, I really feel guilty as I didn't push myself to be better and understand the experience in better shops could benefit me more.
Today a friend sent me the intern recruitment of EVR. Regional offices of BBs and boutiques here barely recruit interns, and EVR probably has never recruited at least publicly.
It's just a feeling of losing something. Don't know what to do since I have no one to ask which path is more worth doing.

Not remotely close to talking about professional aspects of this. But the feeling of losing something comes from inside us. It is not about the banks and reputation.
For instance, it could be that you have self esteem issues and you're like, if this bank took me, it must be a shit bank. Let's look at the banks that are difficult to get into. That must be prestigious. However, it is all but certain you feel that bank as shit if they hire you.
Conclusion: you have done amazingly well and just have fun until you start your internship. There is no end to better. There's always a better. You'll find peace if you just take a step back and appreciate what you have, especially if that's a place that keeps you sane.

Thanks a lot. I do have certain prestige-obsession issues. My heart literally beat so fast and I could hear/sense it while seeing the recruitment of whatever Evercore or some MFPEs and imagining being one of them
Can probably tell which bank and school you go to. Evercore Beijing has recruited twice in the past year so Issa not that big of a deal. But yeah I’m dealing with the same problem in a similar position. Hmu
