How are exit opps. from Credit Suisse (not L.A.)
I'm thinking about trying to find a gig at CS. I know that exit opportunities are heavily dependent on one's company and group as well as their performance.
My question is Credit Suisse is a Bulge Bracket, but obviously not as strong as Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Lehman, etc...
I understand the ibanking analyst lifestlye is not something to get excited about and many people want to exit into PE, HF, or VC after their 2 year analyst contract comes to an end.
How have Credit Suisse analyst done in terms of getting into solid Private Equity, Hedge Funds or Venture Capital firms?
I would be surprised to see any KKR, Blackstone, Carlyle etc.. though I might be wrong.
Can someone provide any information.
CS Chicago does fine
what about New York?
Guys at CS have gone to Blackstone. I know of two -- one going to London the other to NY. CS Sponsors places the lights out, better than 99% of the groups on the street.
damn. I'm extremely impressed with certain groups at CS. Sure, overall they might be below Goldman and Morgan Stanley, but certain groups such as Sponsors are among the top 3 groups in all of Wall Street along with GS TMT and MS M&A.
I don't know about top 3, I'd save higher spots for UBS/cs la. On the other hand, cs sponsors as well as many of the other cs groups place very well.
could you please elaborate on how CS chicago places. thanks
GTCR, MDP, etc.
CS places well into PE. I know kids that gone onto Warburg, Blackstone, MDP etc. CS Chicago is also highly regarded.
MDP = Madison Dearborn Partners, PE shop in Chicago
GTCR is another PE firm in Chicago
Both are excellent shops. Very sought after.
How is CS tech group in NY in terms of deal flow, exit options and lifestyle? I know CS tech is top notch but does that apply only to SF or includes NY as well.
How is the Alernative Investments group at Credit Suisse? Highly rated on the street, good pay?
There's a kid out of CS SF going to Blackstone, if that is one of the kids you're referring to...

Hey,
How are the exit opportunities from Credit Suisse M&A, New York like for PE, Hedge Funds, etc?
Thanks
Not too good
bump
other thoughts?
Heard CS energy is killing it. Sponsors is also known for great exit opps but they might not be as active these days. M&A might be next best
Does anyone have any comments on the M+A group in particular? I am interested in this as well.
