Nomura 2023 SA

If you're like me (at a good but non-target school, non-div, mid 3's gpa), you might be beginning to realize that you may not, in fact, land a gig at MS M&A, GS TMT or JEFF energy. It is time to start looking elsewhere.

With that being said I am creating a thread for those of us who are hanging onto our dreams by a thread, but are also starting to get realistic. So, what's the Nomura recruiting timeline? Personally, I can't bring myself to network there, but applied this week and got an email asking me to rank groups. Where are people at in the process?

Lol you can't bring yourself to network there? ok good luck

Yeah. Are we supposed to? Cuz I didn't network, attend any of their info sessions, or anything so I have no clue about their recruiting process and timeline.

In the SA22 recruiting cycle - Nomura recruited 42 people. 5 in SF and 37 in NYC. 3 in SF are Greentech and I believe like ~5-7 are in NYC for Greentech. (Though don't quote me on the NYC figure)

This is good size. Thank you very much for the information. Do you mind PM me? I received recruiter's email and need know more information about company. Thanks.

Very true. How do you think changing market conditions will affect full time and lateral hiring? Likely will be more competitive because less spots will be needed.

I mean yes...but the volatility in the markets is going to stay. If anything, coming from outside an IB role, and trying to come into IB full-time will be 2x as hard in my opinion!

Wtf is going on lol? Has anyone gotten a confirmation? According to the times they listed on the email, interviews for today should have started.

Nomura's work hours are brutal in the sense you will often sit at your desk until the nighttime without fail regardless of workload. If you know how to network and have a great attention to detail, you will get exciting career boosting projects. It's also hit or miss with who your manager is because of the Japanese culture of work work work. Have a plan to leave after bonus season which is likely May/June. Then join a US company to double up bonuses for the year.

For all those asking if superday was heavy on technicals: it was but they were pretty easy. Study up on the 400 questions guide and you’ll be fine.

Hey! I have created a group for 2023 SA. DM me if you are interested in joining
