RE groups on the Street
I have heard MS has the strongest RE group on the street. What other banks are strong in this industry group? What are exit options after 2-3 years for an associate in RE?

DB has the strongest RE group on the street, based on fees and volume.
JPM, MS, Wachovia, CS, Lehman BS, all are strong. DB too but I would NOT call it the strongest. You better back it up with some numbers. Definitely not on thomson league tables.
No culture to speak of and just downright nasty to work for. Spent a year there and let me tell you that I would consider working for a Korean deli, stacking shelves and gutting fish, before considering going back to DB.
What made you hate DB's RE group so much? How do you guys perceive CS's RE group. I know theyre not strong yet, but seem like they have good prospects
definitely looking to be a player, recruiting heavily and focusing on emerging markets (read: India). MS tops (probably MS's top industry group, period), Goldman second, probably Lehman and JPM after that. DB? I don't think so.
Why is DB so bad? 2 VP here spend their analyst years at DB and they liked their experience.
I once met a kid who interned at JPM IB NYC after his junior year who interned at DB London after his sophomore year (don't ask me how he got it) and he HATED the DB job.
I don't think DB is the worst. Some people HATE JPM's culture. But this kid loves it (compared to his experience at DB).
haven't heard too many ppl complain about JPM 'cept in M&A...surprising u say that. DB is notorious for absolutely killing their analysts in every group so doesn't surprise me that this kid hated his experience.
You should try Eastdil/Secured. They pay well and the hours are ok...
Other than NYC, what other cities have RE groups for major BBs?
Is RE for Real Estate, or something else?
What does RE stand for?
RBS Greenwich has a nice RE practice too, one of the most profitable on the street, in percentage terms.
Sometimes it might be Real Estate or Retained Earnings.
I know this is an old topic but...
How is Goldman's Real Estate group relative to others? I've heard MS is tops but after that it seems up in the air.
