SA Advice-BAML GIR, Mizuho IB, S&P Structured Finance, Deloitte Consulting, State Street
Hi all,
Can anyone give me an insight into what position should I choose if I want to pursue a career in IB and to what factors might come into play if I were to choose one of the following offers?
-Bank of America Merrill Lynch: Global Investment Research (Probably at a Fixed Income Desk)
-Mizuho Bank: IB Latin American Coverage Group
-State Street: Enterprise Risk Team in the AIS Hedge Funds Division
-S&P: Structured Finance
-Deloitte Consulting: Technology Consulting
The SA offers are all in New York.
Thank you!
Quick question- When did you interview with Mizuho? Didn't know they were still recruiting...
Mizuho is still recruiting. They are probably going to be done within the next week.
Mizuho easily. A good shop and you'll be in an IB role. A lot of people chase brand names, but it really is the experience in banking that makes you a better banker. Sounds obvious, but people on this forum don't typically understand that
Thanks for your input. How is Mizuho seen by BB banks? What is Mizuho's reputation? I would prefer to go FT at a BB.
If you are set on IB then Mizuho, but know that Mizuho is basically non-existent in Latam. So just know you might not even have a deal this summer.
