Wells fargo hires Jpmorgan MD Fernando Rivas to Co-head CIB

Interesting news, "Rivas will run Wells Fargo’s corporate and investment bank alongside Jon Weiss, another JPMorgan veteran, bank officials told The Wall Street Journal. JPMorgan said last year that Rivas would leave after nearly three decades there, most recently as head of North American investment banking. "

But I am more interested in when all these big-name hires will lead to more winning mandates. Any thoughts?

Already heard of stories of Daug Braunstein helping them get in front of clients and pitching. Would imagine that it is only a matter of time before WFS will start to win mandates.

You know, I don't have a dog in this fight, but could someone correct me on this? Was Rivas the one who spent the pandemic living with the co-head in a cabin in a Maine away from both of their families?

Also, yeah Wells is probably going to win some mandates like with Santander just based off the size of their balance sheet + hired talent.

Some exceptional hires from wells over the past few years. In my opinion the problem with wells is it’s relatively weak mid/senior talents. Personally I feel like hiring more mds rather than a new head/exec would probably contribute more to its deal flow.
