MSF advice - I need your guidance!
Hello Everyone,
Okay I need some advice about MSF programs. But first i'll give you a quick synopsis about myself. I went to a non-target state school and just graduated (class of 2011). I have a 3.8 gpa with very good extracurricular activities. I have had two internships at a BB bank. And am now working full time at that bank. My internships were in both a BO role and a MO role. My current full time role could be viewed as either BO or MO depending on your viewpoint. I'm in the investment bank line of business at the bank.
I want to be in either S&T or AM. But I wouldnt turn down an offer for IBD or ER. I feel as if an MSF is the only way to get to one of these positions. In my current situation, all my hope is going off of networking. I know some people on the street but interviews are still are to come by. And it is hard to "wow" a FO interviewer with a non-target UG degree and BO/MO work experience. So with that said, I have a few questions.
1) What programs would you recommend between Villanova, WUSTL, Vandy, and BC in terms of FO offers and placement % upon graduation?
2) Does my logic make sense in that it is very difficult to move from BO to FO with simple networking? I realize that networking is important at every point in your career but I feel as if im hoping to win the lottery in my current position
3) My worst fear is that I graduate from an MSF program and will still only be able to obtain a MO or BO role. What are the odds of this happening if I attend one of the above schools?
** on a side note, I have yet to take the gmat.
- Thanks Everyone!!
any advice?
