Potential Scam Internship?
Hi monkeys,
I have been offered an internship with the firm the Keith & Even Group (TKEG) and they claim to offer M&A and PE advice but I cannot find any deals they have worked on.
Also, their share capital in the UK is only about £1000 and the CEO is only 22 which seems suspicious so should I take the internship offer?
That might be a scam... I saw one called alpha capital holdings that was also a scam orientated towards Chinese students. Tbh anything orientated towards Chinese students is probably a scam
Thanks for your response, it does seem fishy but I don't think they target Chinese students since most of the interns seem to be working in London.
Apparently, the people who founded the firm are all still in college so I have no idea how they can claim to offer consulting services.
hi i just wanted to know if you accepted your offer in the end and how the internship went?
Hi, yeah it was pretty useless. Everyone is in their 20s and they have barely any financial knowledge. The CEO was still in college when I was there so I left after I managed to get an offer for an internship at a real company.
was it a paid internship tho?
oh nice thanks for the info:)
was it a paid internship tho?
Nope
alr. thank you for letting me know
Did they have a real physical office?
When I was there they didn;t have one. Everyone worked remotely
I also got an interview offer from them after sending my CV. I only found out it was a scam when I saw they had 5 employees on LinkedIn. Honestly, their branding and website look so good, better than some of the big consulting firms. But yeah, I don't know why they even bother doing this. Do they even make money? Like who the hell asks for their advice?
Hi, I also got an interview offer after applying on LinkedIn. I'm getting worried after reading the posts. So did you just leave it alone and didn't continue with the next step?
Hi! Did you end up going thru with it or have any insight? Saw the posting on my school's career website, so have been applying.
Before accepting the internship offer, I would recommend conducting further research on TKEG to determine whether they are a legitimate and reputable firm. Some steps you could take include:
Check if TKEG is registered with regulatory bodies in your country, such as the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK or the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US.
Look for any news articles or press releases about TKEG and its activities. This could give you an idea of their reputation within the industry and whether they have worked on any significant deals.
Reach out to former interns or employees of TKEG on LinkedIn or other professional networks to get their perspective on the firm.
If you are unable to find any information about TKEG or if you have any doubts about the legitimacy of the firm, it may be best to decline the internship offer and look for opportunities with more established firms in the industry.
Bro could you stop fucking using ChatGPT to post on here
