Student seeking career advice
Hi everyone,
I desperately need some advice on what should I do to start a career in AM. To provide some context, here's my background:
I'm currently a second-year student at Erasmus University, pursuing an undergraduate degree in economics and business economics. I have maintained decent grades (8.5/10) and got an invitation for the honors program but unfortunately I got rejected (apparently around 100 students applied and thus I got no feedback and clarification as to why I'm rejected). I have applied to multiple internships for this summer in the Netherlands and the UK but have no offers (not even an interview). I have also applied to internships in my home country but still have no serious offers (only an interview and I'm still waiting for a decision). I speak no Dutch at all.
My plan is to either do the GMAT to apply for LSE MSc Finance (or other universities in the UK) and maybe start a career there, or to apply for MSc Finance and Investments here at RSM while also doing the CFA and apply to companies that accept English speakers (NN, Robeco, VLK, GS AM, etc.). I would also consider any suggestions.
I'm really interested in AM because it is what I enjoy doing (so doing research, analyzing a company, valuation, etc.). I also do some investing on my own, and I hold a board position in an investment group so I would love to apply my knowledge to working.
Apologies for the long text but I would love to hear your opinions. Thank you in advance.
