Snitching on networking calls?
Today I got on a call with a kid who told me he’s recruiting FT as a backup for his BB SA. Went around and talked to the guys next to me and he said he already contacted opposite firm’s HRs on kid’s name who try to network before their summer starts.
I mean who tf does that, what a dick move. Wanna know what others think, I personally avoid jeopardizing futures of these kids.
Is it just me that cant understand this paragraph
Bro sitting next to me snitched on kids who try to recruit FT at our bank before they start their SA with another bank
Your coworker is a dick. Is recruiting for FT before your SA stint a bad look? Yes. Is screwing over some kid that's trying to guarantee his career way worse? Definitely
Oh that makes sense. Thats fucked. Ppl like that makes this industry a lot less enjoyable
Feel terrible for the kid… karma always comes back.
Can I pm you because I’m stressing that it was me? Truly meant no harm just hard trying to make a decision years down the line for that of a 20 year old…
Bankers work 16 hours a day & yet they have the time to go out of their way to pull this shit off
this is why people hate wall streeters
There’s some really bitter people in this industry. I really don’t know if it’s the hours that turn them into this or that’s who they are.
Theyre just dicks. Most ppl dont do that despite getting cranked
That's exactly why they 'work 16 hours a day'. Most of it isn't real work, it's just bullshit work that MDs circle around. Just all round toxicity and BS
Reminds me of when bankers took vacation time, and then the entire time he was away, everyone else was trying to take his job, or his deal/client, etc, and put serious effort into sh*tting on him to seniors, in a ploy to sabotage, or otherwise eliminate the competition -- in some cases, after he returned from vacation, his time was short, and it resulted in many being afraid to take off a day or to ever go on vacation. It used to happen fairly often, but I always felt it was a dirty move.
That's insane, how did the seniors not see it? Or they did and didn't care?
If my coworker pulled that shit, I’d casually let the other associates or VPs know at the next happy hour so they know who the snakes are on the team
Oops
Probably should read it again. It’s another analyst, not OP
I had a stroke reading this
I would never do this, what the fuck man? Stay on the sell side too long and your soul turns dark brah
How'd he even know who in HR to contact? Did he just go on linkedin and grab any random HR person's name?
