What analyst opportunity to take in this market?

Would you take a capital markets analyst role at one of the big shops in a secondary market on an active team (JLL, CBRE, C&W). Or an asset management role at a company with 5-10B in AUM. Not as interested in AM but seems more stable given the market.

I have a year-ish experience in AM at a small family office. Wasn’t as excited with the day to day and I’ve always had an itch to try one of the analyst programs at a big shop. Not sure if brokerage is the end goal but if I had the opportunity to perform at the highest level I would.

Do a lot of people leave the ownership side to go investment sales/debt & equity or would I be dumb to do so? And if I made the switch and after a while I didn’t like it, is it hard to switch back to ownership after grinding it out as a capital markets analyst?
