2015 JUNE CFA DID I PASS?

Sup guys,

Waiting on some numbers this morning and am having a pre-CFA exam results meltdown. Please either put my mind at ease or crush me so hard I quit finance, I am tired of being in limbo.

Scenario:

Finance econ double major 4.0

studied for 2015 june CFA during last semester of college. Did 80% of the CFAI readings from mid february to late April. Didnt look at anything after that until 10 days before the exam

During my 10 day cram sesh I put in roughly 12-16 hours each day focusing FSA, Ethics, Fxd Inc, and Equity

Took 3 practice tests scoring 57% on first, 67% on second, and 81% on third. I then did all of the CFAI online quizzes for each section and was putting up low 80s on average for those.

TEST DAY:

Finished morning session an hour early and went back to review ethics all over again and a few marked questions because I thought it seemed to easy. My review told me it was.

Finished afternoon session an hour early and walked out without reviewing because I had to catch a plane to mexico.

I left feeling liked Level was a joke and I smoked. As time has passed and I read horror stories, my confidence has deteriorated and I feel like there was something I had to have missed.

Question: Did I smoke CFA level 1 or did I blow it?

Best Response

I studied a lot more and took more practice tests for level I than you, but I still felt like it could go either way. I finished early both sections of level I too, I did not know you could leave the room in morning early so i sat there for 1.5 hours waiting and only did a brief run through my responses. Afternoon i finished an hour early and just left, I was done.

Then you have 8 weeks to think about all the what if's, it is just normal. When it came to my results only feeling okay after the exam, in reality I scored above 70% on everything except one smaller section, so I clearly destroyed that test despite my similar anxiety. There is a chance you feel the same, and doing the exact same thing.

If you didn't study some sections or under focused on ethics and missed some easy one's there's a chance you bombed it too. I guess my post serves both purposes, to give you an example of similar strategy success, but also manage expectations. Please let me know what happens, I am interested in hearing!

Either way you did everything you can at this point. GOOD LUCK! I am waiting for level III results, have 2 more weeks from next Tuesday though.. Go slam some drinks after work, and plan on being blasted either way next Tuesday. Being in college passing level I, I went and did Patron shots with my roommate..

You probably passed. CFA 1 is by far the easiest of the 3 and I've heard of plenty of people finishing early. If you did that on 2 however, you're either a genius or you bombed it.
