Affordable USA undergraduates

Hello all,

At the moment I am international studying at a strong semi-target in the UK. Recently I have been thinking whether the tuition fees I pay wouldn't perhaps be better spent in the US (40-50k USD with housing). However most US schools are very expensive and I do not qualify for any financial aid. Here are some I found that cost around or something over my current university:

  • UNC Chapel Hill
  • Georgia Tech
  • BYU
  • Uni of Indiana
  • Penn State

The problem with many of these are they seem to be very subjective if they are truly semi-targets and many send people into more local banks which from my understanding do not sponsor international applicants.

  1. Are there any other good undergrads around this price which can be considered as semi-targets?
  2. And perhaps if someone could give me some insight if the plan of transferring is dumb.

Thanks!
