iMBA vs MBA
I am currently starting my journey to break into IB/PE I am 24 will be 25 by January 2021. I am currently enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign iMBA programme and have about 1/3 down, good GPA so far over 3.5 and probably can close with a 3.7.
Just took the decision to break into BB. I already have a BA degree with a minor in Finance from a Non Target (Actually studied in Guatemala, Central America) and I am currently working in Guatemala, Finance focused mainly FP&A, some M&A(1 transaction) and Equity Research (4 companies) experience. With my background and this iMBA do you think I can break into IB? Should i finish it and try to leverage alumni network and the University prestige (top 40 i think) to break into IB? Or should I just drop it and work to get into a Top 10 and spend $200k + the opporunity cost of not working and earning. I am a US citizen by the way and looking to relocate to the US which is why I went with the iMBA from Urbana.
Thanks in advance for your guidance!
