Profile Evaluation | Master in Finance in Europe - thoughts?

Hi monkeys,

I am from China, currently studying in one of the top-4 French business school and thinking about where to do my Master's. I list below my backgrounds and would like to hear your thoughts:

  • GPA: 16 / 20 (French system)

  • Exchange Erasmus in a German uni

  • GRE: 330

  • Leadership Position in Student Entrepreneurship Club

  • Work Experience: PE (1 internship in China), IB (1 in M&A, elite boutiques; 2 coverage in mid-cap & DAX team and 1 in acquisition finance; all these at large European banks in DACH) +  1 at Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse) + non-finance functions (Finance controlling in large corps; data analyst; consulting in healthcare)

  • Business creation experience: started logistics firm, revenue of USD 500k in 2021

I started focusing on finance since the third year, targeting to either start full-time in London / DACH regions and thought of several target schools below:

  • 1) Oxford; HEC; ESSEC

-  2) WHU;  Bocconi;  Frankfurt school

-  3) Dauphine; Mannheim; Warwick

So far came up with my favorites; if you have other thoughts feel free to suggest!

Hey man,

Thanks for your reply! LBS / LSE is great, however program is kinda short. For HEC if you know the french system, they never intake any BBA student from France.

You started a business which turned over half a mil but wanna go into finance? What are the motivations here? Surely work to scale, get bought out and retire ?

With those stats and assuming you’re good at displaying fit for a firm, you’ll have 0 problems getting into IB/PE in the UK. I’d simply pick the 1 year program at LBS/LSE and focus on developing my network

Sciences Po "MSc in Finance & Strategy" would be slightly better than Dauphine for your tier 3 (for english programs at least)
