Just got my offer. Thank you WSO

Hello. Today I received an offer from a major oil company in the trading department for my first summer internship. I go to a non-target and have sub par grades (3.4/4.0) but with the help of networking and WSO I was able to land my dream position. Overall I just want to thank the users of WSO for sharing.

I contacted people through email and also had some friends set me up with some of there contacts in all different areas of the energy business. The most important part was me paying my own way twice to go and first network with people but also flying to my interview during exams times. If you show people you are willing to spend your hard earned money just to have a conversation with them they tend to take notice. Also remember that when you are networking, you are not trying to get a job from that person but from someone that person knows. I went for beers with a risk manager and he casually said i think xx oil company may be hiring. I emailed myself and started the process.
