Black tie, probably not.

Black suit, there is no reason to wear one over solid charcoal or navy, those are considered more standard. However, IMHO it's not a deal breaker. I was pretty unaware of business fashion in college and even the beginning of banking (business casual office). So, I showed up to my internship superdays in a black suit. It worked out fine for me.

Point being, navy or charcoal > black, but it's much less of a big deal than a lot of people on here would have you believe

 

Seems to be common in Asia (Japan at least). To me it screams "Reservoire Dogs", therefore I'd say listen to the recommendations above and wear a different combination.
