Epic Resignation

Leaving a job can be a highly charged emotional situation. It seems that of late, many individuals have taken to social media to air out the dirty laundry upon exit. In March, Greg Smith, formerly of Goldman Sachs provided a scathing review of his former employer, providing insight into the inept nature of Goldman's management and the mistreatment of its clients.

Now its September and yet another scandalous resignation letter has hit the wire. This time its out of a UK media company, MEC. Similar to Greg Smith, the individual felt slighted by management. Again, this individual felt the need to share their disdain for the company while naming names. If you haven't seen it take a look (highlight of the letter: accusing his boss of having sex with a female colleague at the office).

So I have to ask, is it worth all the trouble? If anything it looks like career suicide...

Who would want to hire an individual who has:
1. Gone to the media in a last ditch effort for revenge
2. Named names that not only ruins the reputation of the individuals but that of the company

In closing; anyone here with a personal experience they would like to share? Or if you can find some other examples of epic resignations please provide the link in the comments.

The way I see it, Greg Smith had as much of an epic intro into the media industry as an epic quitting. He is now coming out with a book and I guess he will try to turn it into some other sort of publicity/money. He'll probably get a job on MSNBC as a critic of Wall Street.

"Feb 21st I had to go to the doctors due to an imminent breakdown where I was ordered to stay off work indefinitely. I was signed off with Work Related Stress. I ended up needing over 2weeks off in order to recover."

Pussy...

I like this trend of airing dirty laundry. There are websites like glassdoor that allow reviewing the companies by the former or present employees. It gives perspective employees a good idea where they are getting themselves into. Companies need to be held accountable for all the fucking up that goes on inside.

Screw glassdoor. WSO is where the real info is at.

Definitely shot himself on the foot and managed to crawl to a cliff and plunge himself to his own demise.

Everybody gets screwed every once in a while. You got a real deal, you go to court. Yapping all over the media aint doing no body no good so wtf ?

If they're doing moves like this they're probably completely done with the industry. Some people like to go out causing a shit storm, while others would rather go out quietly.
