First Official London WSO Meetup Upcoming, Help Us Plan!

London monkeys,

London Social Chair EuroGorilla and I are starting to plan the first official London WSO meetup / happy hour for early November.

1. Dates we're looking at are between November 7-9th (Wed/Thur/Fri). Which day would be best?

2. Location: EuroGorilla said a bar in the West End at one of the Mayfair bars would be best, but Oreos below said "it'll exclude all of canary wharf", do you guys have an idea for a spot that is easiest for those working in finance to reach?

3. What time should it start? 6PM? 7PM?

Thanks for your feedback!

Cheers,

Andy

Cheers fellas. WSO is going international!
any tips you can pass on for the london blokes?

I have compiled Happy Hour best practices: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/wso-happy-hour-best-practices-and-r…

Some of the specific names of users may not apply overseas, but that means you "blokes" have a blank slate to work with; put your own spin on the beauty of WSO Happy Hour!

mayfair is great and all, but it'll exclude all of canary wharf. the city it best to please all.....go to bank, if you wana hate yourself in the morning go to abacus, you'll get messy and have a good story later....

Liverpool Street is where its at!
it really isn't. but that said. go to the Gallery behind DB, reserve out the mezz floor at happy hour, and have a happy hour (or two...)

Not in Mayfair. Somewhere in the City, great access for both CW and West End and reasonably priced. Near Bank! DLR and Central / District lines.

Bars are usually rammed on Thursdays, would recommend either Wednesday or Friday.

7pm start.

Let's maybe shoot for Wednesday Nov 7th then, Asatar you have a specific bar in mind in that area?

Its London- Mon til Fri its going to be packed in the city lol

Are we shooting for a non-pub bar ie Anthologist, Sushi Samba, The Folly, Madison? Or try a pub in Leadenhall Market or something? The Andaz Hotel's bar is always relatively empty- could be a good one. The Rocket bar on Bishopsgate is also a good meet up place...

I know if you call the Anthologist they may be able to reserve a place for 20ish people...

A non pub bar will be good I feel - Wednesday 7pm is ideal!!

Anthologist is decent but the people there are dicks.... Might be better on a non-Friday / Thursday though!

Hey guys, Mayfair was just a selfish suggestion bc I have a dinner with the client at the office that Wedensday so was hoping I could swing both. As ex-city boy I say one of the best starting points could be the Andaz Hotel bar as they are really easy-going with reserving the space for bigger groups. Sushi Samba would be terrific provided we don't get rained on and we can hang out on the patio which is a lottery given Autumn in London. Can we get show of hands of how many people are planning to come out? It will help with narrowing the potential venue.

Cheers!

I would appreciate if we could make a reservation in the name of someone who will show up early. I also don't think I can do 7pm due to my dinner commitment. Will try to get out there by 9pm. Andy I think the event you created currently states start time at 9pm which actually is fine by me.

Re: location, Andaz probably has one of the better settings for conversation (i.e. they don't blast the music like some other city dives).
