How much would you pay for a GMAT score?

Recent college grads! I know your pondering when to take the GMAT. You want to bang it out but you don’t want to rush and blow it. For the young guns aspiring for business school, this one test could be your bread and butter or completely screw you over. So what’s it worth?

Sam Eshaghoff thinks its $2,500 bucks for SAT’s. This guy took the SAT dozens of times for his classmates, generating quite the side income. He managed to dominate the test each and every time, however he had no ambitions of his own. What better way to utilize his talents than to become a professional test taker? The best part is that it pays to cheat.

Hundreds of kids got into top schools beyond their actual credentials, but CollegeBoard’s policy dictates that they will not reveal the identity of John’s clients. A conflict of interest exists because the SAT board doesn’t want to threaten the integrity of its test. No existing students were identified, and no admissions departments were notified. My favorite fact – the SAT board spent $11MM dollars on test security and only caught 150 people cheating (only 73k per to catch a cheater!).

So how much would you pay for the perfect GMAT with no real downside? This strategy is easily replicated for most of the standardized tests. The vast majority of us still wouldn’t (and don’t) cheat. So what’s holding us back?

There is 10x more security for GMAT than SAT.

Nice try though.

agreed.

OP, by saying the strategy is easily replicated for most standardized tests, I'm going to assume you're not talking about graduate level tests...

Considering that after studying for a year and over a month and a half of dedicated studying got me to a score I can't even utter on this message board with an anonymous username...

$7,000. Seriously.

It's impossible though. GMAT security is ridiculous.

420?

So yeah...don't think I want to pay for this risk sharing agreement.

And the kicker: everyone that took the test with him got shafted as well. Clearly not worth the risk.

1) If people were able to pay for gmat scores then ultimately average would rise quite quickly therefore test would become meaningless hence you would lose any benefits, except for early users 2) If you assume that only a few people were able to cheat, why not pyaing up to $10k ? MBA education costs $40k per year, think about 2 years programme and additional housig and living costs, you reach $100k easy. Would you not spend 10% of your total MBA costs to end up at your top choice , or at least top business schools?

Regardless of the price- cheating is good short term. However, as you look back on your accomplishments, how can you even be proud of yourself? There's no honor, no satisfaction, in going to a good school or getting a good job because you faked your way to it. You cannot even credit yourself. Please read Atlas Shrugged to see a great example of this.

why cheat, eventually you are going to work hard, so why not start it with the GMAT. OP this is as bad as swagon's trolls.
