STEM Students: KPCB Wants YOU!
Venture capital firms are going after younger and younger entrepreneurs in order to find the superstars of tomorrow, and Kleiner Perkins has been leading the way. If you're a STEM student, you're going to want to pay attention to this. The application process is now open for the 2013 Kleiner Perkins Engineering Fellows Program. You need to have your application submitted by October 31, 2012. The program runs next summer and STEM students from all US universities are encouraged to apply.
2012 was the inaugural year for the program, and 30 applicants were selected from over 1,000 applications. They worked with KPCB portfolio companies like Klout, Zynga, and Path, and interacted with companies like Facebook and Twitter. According to Kleiner Perkins, 90% of them will receive full time offers or internships with their portfolio companies. A 90% placement rate is nothing to sneeze at.
So if you think you've got what it takes, get your application in soon. Obviously only the best and the brightest are going to make the cut, but I have to believe if you're reading WSO that you fall into that category. Besides, what else are you going to do with that monster IQ of yours? Middle trades for some HFT outfit? Your mother would be so proud...
this sounds amazing. wish they had this around when i was in school.
are the schools listed any where
Further confirmation that I graduated at the nethermost year for opportunities. Seems like it would be an outstanding experience.
How does one "middle" a trade?
You're right, a little vague.
Fixed it.
Wow. I would be totally into this if I was a college senior.
Nothing ruins your 30s like the discovery you have a job, not a career
Clearly you haven't had kids yet.
Wtf?
"Problem Using only primitive types, implement a bounded queue to store integers. The data structure should be optimized for algorithmic runtime, memory usage, and memory throughput. No external libraries should be imported and/or used. The solution should be delivered in one class that provides the following functions:
constructor - class should provide one method for object creation that takes an integer to set the size of the queue. enqueue - function should take an integer and store it in the queue if the queue isn't full. The function should properly handle the case where the queue is already full. dequeue - function should return an integer if one is currently stored in the queue. The function should properly handle the case where the queue is empty."
