Here's a couple classics for you guys to play with!
Note: If you could all please input your answers using the previously noted html code it will allow others to answer without having a spoiler. Also, in your answer, do not include any ' or " or it will not work properly.
Question 1
You're walking to a meeting, already running a little late, and come to an intersection with two twin brothers standing idly by. You had met them both previously at a party while drunk on tequila and you know one always lies and the other always tells the truth. Sadly, in your drunken haze coupled with the fact that they're twins has made it so you've completely forgotten which one is which. You're running late but if you only ask one question to only one brother, you'll make it. What question do you ask to what brother to get you to your meeting on schedule?
Question 2
You get to your meeting but on the way, you lose your glasses and cannot see. At the meeting are three big wigs; you know one is named Blankfein, another Strumpf, and the third Dimon, but you don't know who's who. Luckily, they're nice guys and say that you may ask them two yes or no questions, but you must direct each question to only one big wig. Further, they agree to answer truthfully and in English. How do you determine their identities?
Good Luck!
Question 1 is a classic :) EDIT: misread question, oops
Dang.... not a whole lot of reaction to this so far. NYE must be claiming some victims today. I'm looking forward to seeing some answers.
First one is a classic ;)
But to the second questions there are only four possible answers to the two questions I could ask them (each being either yes or no), but there are 6 ways that their identities could be mixed up. This seems impossible to solve (at least if I'm not missing something here).
@chicandtoughness you read it right :) - definitely the classic you're used to, I just tried to make it more relatable, haha.
@Puzzler Good work! Exactly right. However, #2 is absolutely solvable:
Haha, in that case I just suffered an embarrassing case of second guessing myself.
2
Ask the first guy to say 'Yes' if he is Blankfein, 'No' if he is Strumpf, and be 'silent' if he is Dimon.
Let's say he is Dimon. Then ask the second guy, if he is Strumpf. Problem solved.
